15mm Marine Plywood Sheets 12"x12" to 8'x4' Sizes
These 15mm marine-grade plywood sheets are built in line with British Standard BS1088. They are pressed from untreated tropical hardwood veneers and bonded with Weather and Boil Proof (WBP) adhesive, giving them long-lasting durability and reliable resistance against moisture and challenging weather conditions.
Our range covers sizes from 12"x12" through to full 8'x4' (approx. 300 x 300mm to 2440 x 1220mm). This flexibility makes ordering straightforward whether you need small cut panels or full-size boards for marine, exterior, or structural projects.
Marine Plywood Features
- Manufactured to BS1088 with WBP adhesive for strong moisture resistance.
- Multi-layered hardwood veneer build with a smooth face and stable core.
- Void-free interior for improved load-bearing and reduced risk of delamination.
- Sustainably sourced hardwood from managed forestry resources.
- Performs well in wet or humid conditions with repeated exposure to moisture.
- Standard 8′x4′ sheet provides approx. 2.98m² coverage.
- Average board weight approx. 27kg depending on species.
- Note: final sheet dimensions may vary slightly due to saw blade cutting loss.
How does marine plywood differ from standard plywood?
Marine plywood is engineered with many thin hardwood layers for strength and uniformity. Standard plywood often uses fewer, thicker softwood layers such as pine or Douglas fir. This difference makes marine plywood denser, harder, and more suitable for outdoor or structural use where resistance to moisture and strength are critical.
Is marine plywood fully waterproof?
The sheets themselves are not waterproof, but the WBP adhesive prevents the veneers from separating in damp or wet environments. This quality allows marine plywood to be used in exterior joinery, marine construction, outdoor furniture, and in coastal settings with high natural humidity.
Should marine plywood be treated?
Yes. While the adhesive is waterproof, sealing the faces and edges will extend the service life. Treatment ensures the sheet resists decay and maintains stability during long-term use.
