A robust, two‑part kit for rainwater harvesting that provides a secure connection between a water butt and 32mm MDPE piping. Built for tradespeople and DIYers alike, it combines a threaded tank connector with a straight MDPE joiner for a dependable, leak‑proof fit outdoors. Kit contents
- 1 x Tank Connector with Washer 1" BSPM (BUTT1BSPM)
- 1 x MDPE Straight Joiner 32mm − 1" BSPF (MDPESTR32-1BSPF) Why this fits your water‑butt needs
The BSPM threaded tank connector is moulded from durable plastic designed to resist wear in water storage applications. With a built‑in washer and a securing nut, it delivers a solid seal to the tank surface and helps prevent drips or leaks under pressure. The MDPE straight joiner provides a direct, straight path from 32mm MDPE piping to a 1" BSPF outlet, making it straightforward to extend or link sections of pipe without complex fittings. Key technical details you can rely on
- MDPE PN10 pipe fittings are engineered to withstand up to 10 bar (approx. 145 psi), giving confidence in typical domestic water pressure scenarios and garden irrigation loads.
- MDPE fittings are known for durability, flexibility, and chemical resistance, supporting long‑term outdoor use in varying weather conditions.
- The kit uses threaded compression connections to secure a tight, leak‑free seal without requiring specialist tools, making installation practical on site. Practical applications and benefits
- Ideal for upgrading or replacing a worn water butt connection, enabling reliable rainwater transfer to 32mm MDPE irrigation or storage piping.
- Suitable for indoor or outdoor installations, weatherproofing to cope with rain, frost, and sun exposure.
- Two essential fittings in one kit reduce guesswork and extra hardware purchases, helping tradespeople keep on site timing tight. How it compares and why it matters
Compared with single‑component fittings, this kit offers a complete, compatible pairing: a 1" BSP threaded tank connector plus a 32mm MDPE straight joiner that aligns directly with MDPE piping and BSP outlets. The combination supports a straightforward transition from tank to pipe, with a secure seal ensured by the washer and nut and a robust MDPE connection capable of handling typical garden irrigation demands. Tips for best results
- Clean and cut pipe ends squarely before fitting.
- Tighten nuts firmly to compress the washer without over‑tightening to avoid damage.
- Check for leaks after initial filling and resealing if necessary.

All of our C16 and C24 graded timber is regularised
Regularised timber is timber that has been processed to have a uniform shape and size. This means that the wood has been sawn and planed to remove any irregularities and ensure that each piece of wood has consistent dimensions. Regularised timber is often used in construction, particularly in the framing of buildings, as it is easier to work with and can be more efficiently installed than irregularly shaped timber.
We have one of the largest ranges of timber lengths, dimensions and grades available to buy online.
The variation you require will determine the exact lead time and delivery method.
Most orders arrive within 3-4 days, the maximum is 7 days. Please get in touch before you order if you need a specifc delivery date.
Delivery charges vary by postcode. To find out the delivery charge, add the item(s) you require to your basket and select CALCULATE SHIPPING at the bottom of the page.
Some orders are delivered on our own vehicles based in Leicestershire and Cheshire. We also use carriers including Yodel and Tuffnells. For some sizes and locations we use regional distributors.
If you'd prefer crane offloading rather than tail lift vehicle offloading for your brick order then this service is available for the majority of bricks that we sell. Charges are shown at checkout.
For deliveries of less than 6 packs then Taillift offloading is normally a more cost effective option
