FAQ
All of our C16 and C24 graded timber is regularised
Regularised timber is timber that has been processed to have a uniform shape and size. This means that the wood has been sawn and planed to remove any irregularities and ensure that each piece of wood has consistent dimensions. Regularised timber is often used in construction, particularly in the framing of buildings, as it is easier to work with and can be more efficiently installed than irregularly shaped timber.
We have one of the largest ranges of timber lengths, dimensions and grades available to buy online.
The variation you require will determine the exact lead time and delivery method.
Most orders arrive within 3-4 days, the maximum is 7 days. Please get in touch before you order if you need a specifc delivery date.
Delivery charges vary by postcode. To find out the delivery charge, add the item(s) you require to your basket and select CALCULATE SHIPPING at the bottom of the page.
Some orders are delivered on our own vehicles based in Leicestershire and Cheshire. We also use carriers including Yodel and Tuffnells. For some sizes and locations we use regional distributors.
If you'd prefer crane offloading rather than tail lift vehicle offloading for your brick order then this service is available for the majority of bricks that we sell. Charges are shown at checkout.
For deliveries of less than 6 packs then Taillift offloading is normally a more cost effective option

Perfect for All Applications
Whether you're working on ceiling plasterboard for smooth finishes in living rooms and hallways, partition walls and stud frames for creating internal walls, or moisture-resistant plasterboard for kitchens and bathrooms, we have you covered. Our plasterboard is also ideal for small projects, soundproofing, and commercial fit-outs with fire-rated and standard options available.
If you’re wondering how to cut plasterboard, you’ll need some basic tools to start. Follow these steps for a clean and professional result; Use a tape measure and pencil to mark your cutting line on the front (facer) of the plasterboard sheet. Using a sharp utility knife and a straight edge, firmly score along your marked line. This cut only needs to go through the front paper and into the gypsum core. Lift the board and apply gentle pressure to snap it cleanly along the scored line. Once the board is snapped, cut through the back paper to fully separate the two pieces. Use a rasp, sandpaper, or block plane to smooth any rough edges—especially useful when fitting ceiling plasterboard or panels that will be taped and filled. We recommend always using safety goggles and a dust mask when cutting plasterboard sheets.
Standard plasterboard thickness options range from 9.5mm to 15mm. 12.5mm plasterboard is the most common and is suitable for walls and ceilings. 15mm plasterboard offers added strength and is ideal for acoustic or fire-rated applications Thickness requirements can vary depending on whether you're installing ceiling plasterboard, partitions, or soundproof plasterboard.
Yes, you can paint plasterboard once it’s properly prepared. For best results, apply a mist coat (diluted emulsion) as a primer before your final coats. This applies to standard plasterboard, as well as moisture-resistant and acoustic plasterboard. Make sure all joints are taped and filled before painting for a smooth finish.
Absolutely. You can tile directly onto plasterboard sheets, especially in kitchens and bathrooms. For wet areas, always use moisture-resistant plasterboard or a tile backer board. Apply a suitable tile adhesive and ensure the plasterboard is firmly fixed to studs or walls. Tiling is also possible on ceiling plasterboard in some installations, such as shower ceilings.
