Treated for External Performance

These battens are pressure treated to improve resistance to moisture, rot, and fungal attack. The preservative treatment allows use in external environments where untreated timber would deteriorate quickly. Correct installation ensures long-term durability above damp proof course.
The treatment penetrates the timber fibres to provide consistent protection throughout the section. This supports reliable performance in exposed or ventilated constructions. It also reduces the risk of early failure in external fixings.

General Purpose Batten Use

This batten size is widely used for cladding support, counter-battening, and general construction tasks. It provides a stable fixing surface for boards, sheets, and finishes. The consistent section allows predictable spacing and fixing alignment.

Roofing Application Guidance

While these battens can be used in many construction roles, roofing applications require care. Only British Standard graded roofing battens are approved for use beneath tiles or slates. This product should not be used as a substitute where BS compliance is required.

Coverage and Weight

Each linear metre offers approximately 0.038m² of coverage on the batten face. This makes quantity calculations straightforward during planning. With an estimated weight of around 360g per metre, handling remains light and manageable on site.

Easy Handling on Site

The slim profile makes these battens easy to carry, cut, and fix. They stack neatly for storage and transport. This improves efficiency during repetitive installation work.
