Sandtex® Trade X-Treme X-Posure Smooth Masonry Paint is a water-based exterior paint designed to offer maximum protection against harsh weather conditions. Engineered to provide up to 20 years of weatherproof durability, it dries rapidly to deliver a high-opacity, smooth, matte finish. This paint is highly flexible and dirt-resistant, allowing it to expand and contract with the surface, thereby offering exceptional defence against weather-related damage such as water and frost.

It is ideal for application on surfaces like rendering, roughcast, pebbledash, concrete, building blocks, emulsion, or previously painted masonry.

Preparation

Always ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free from any substances that may affect adhesion.

Gloss surfaces that have been previously painted need to be abraded to provide a suitable key. Remove any loose or flaking material by scraping or brushing with a stiff-bristled brush. Eliminate any organic growth by applying Sandtex Fungicidal Wash according to the manufacturer's instructions. Porous or chalky surfaces should be treated with Sandtex Trade Stabilising Solution before applying Sandtex Trade X-Treme X-Posure Smooth Masonry Paint.

Application

We recommend performing a test patch on the surface to ensure satisfaction with the final results.

Stir the paint well, and always intermix packs in a larger container for colour consistency. Apply using a 4-inch brush, exterior roller, or airless sprayer. If necessary, thin Sandtex Trade X-Treme X-Posure by up to 10% with clean water for airless spray application (21 thou tip, 65º angle). For new surfaces, it may be necessary to dilute the paint with up to 40% clean water, followed by two full coats. Allow 2-4 hours of drying time between coats, and apply two coats for maximum durability. Avoid applying when there is a risk of rain, frost, or if the temperature will fall below 7ºC during the application and drying period. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging.
